DCA Division Director

 

Rick Lee

Richard “Rick” Lee is the new Division Director for the recently created Division of Capital Assets, responsible for managing both statewide programs, Capitol Complex Facilities (CCF) and State Fleet Management (SFM). Rick has been the property manager for the State of Colorado’s Capitol Complex Facilities Management Unit, previously under the Division of Central Services, for about the last seven years. Rick manages 18 core state buildings, including the State Capitol building and the Governor’s Residence. He has been with the State since 2005 and held multiple management positions within Capitol Complex including, the fire and life safety manager, the energy manager, and the grounds and custodial manager. Rick led the effort to gain the USGBC LEED certification for the Capitol in 2008 and the re-certification in 2017. Rick was an original committee member of the Greening State Government.

Rick’s new role of overseeing SFM will involve supporting the expansion and efficiency efforts of alternative vehicles and fuels per the Governor’s Office greening initiatives as well as moving SFM’s processes into the 21st century to serve our customers to the highest extent and the state as a whole.  
 
Rick was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and came to Colorado in 1962. After serving in the United States Navy from 1976–1979, he worked as a stationary operating engineer for Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant until 2005. He is an avid mountain biker and scuba diver.
